CBSE Released a New Format of STEM Case Paper Selection
Education Desk : CBSE Board has issued a notice related to the National Teachers’ Conference 2025 paper selection process, which all participating schools and teachers should know. This post will explain how CBSE will evaluate and shortlist the best papers for presentation at the Patna event. Teachers aiming to participate must understand this process clearly.
How will the best paper be selected?
CBSE has made it clear that the papers to be included in the National Teachers’ Conference (NTC) 2025 will first be selected through STEM-DLD workshop at the district level. That is, any teacher who wants to present a paper in the conference will first have to participate in the STEM District Level Deliberation (DLD) workshop to be held in his district.
What is STEM-DLD and why is it important?
STEM-DLD is a one-day workshop where teachers share innovations, successful teaching strategies and science projects done in their schools. From here, the best two papers are selected and sent to CBSE Centres of Excellence (CoEs).
How will the Appreciation Committee make the selection?
- An Appreciation Committee will be formed in each DLD comprising:
- An external STEM expert (e.g. from a KV, JNV or University)
- Two STEM teachers or principals (who are not presenting the paper themselves)
This committee will evaluate each paper on a scale of 100 marks on the following 9 parameters:
Criteria | Description |
---|---|
Impact (30 Marks) | Data driven and focus on outcomes |
Novelty (10 Marks) | New and innovative ideas |
Relevance (10 Marks) | Matching curriculum and STEM problems |
Methodology (10 Marks) | Inquiry or project-based learning |
Inclusivity (10 Marks) | Involvement of all students |
Scalability (10 Marks) | Potential for expansion to other schools |
Replicability (10 Marks) | Adaptable to other schools |
Sustainability (5 Marks) | Long term impact |
Cost-Effectiveness (5 Marks) | Better at a lower cost Results |
The best papers sent by the CoEs will be re-evaluated by an Expert Committee at CBSE HQ, Delhi. 3 best papers will be selected from each sub-theme:
- The first paper will be presented on stage at the conference
- The second and third will be displayed as posters
When will the final result be declared?
The final result of the paper selection will be declared 1-2 weeks before the National Teachers’ Conference (NTC) 2025. All selected teachers will be informed through email. CBSE has requested all schools to encourage their teachers to participate in the STEM-DLD workshop. It is not only an honour but also a platform where teachers can share their experiences and efforts with the entire country.
